We are the UK's aviation regulator and recognised as a world leader in its field. Our activities are diverse, enabling the aviation industry to meet the highest safety standards, and we pride ourselves on our ability to adapt to the constantly evolving aviation environment.

The Role

As an Instrument Flight Procedures (IFP) Airspace Regulator it would be your primary responsibility to lead all aspects of the regulation of IFP design & development, and its associated design organisations. Furthermore, you will function as a key part of the establishment, implementation and provision process for UK IFP policy and will collaborate closely with stakeholders from a variety of backgrounds.

Additionally, it is essential that you ensure that all procedural policy and regulation is created and enforced in line with the CAAs mandates from our partners in the Department for Transport. This includes maintaining a solid understanding of any and all supporting or associated legislation, and that work is being conducted in accordance with the relevant national/international guidelines.

As well as this, you will act as an auditor to our industrial partners. These duties will specifically focus on ensuring that their design output, and supporting processes, meet the levels of scrutiny required to ensure that safe aircraft flight operations are maintained. This process of oversight will culminate in the production of AIP change request documentation that is shared with associated Air traffic organisations, e.g. NATS, before being proclaimed and put into force.

About You

  • Possess some level of experience in an IFP design organisation, or consultancy practice, with an associated PANS-OPS accreditation
  • Have had exposure to a role in Air Traffic Control or as a member of a professional flight crew
  • Demonstrable knowledge of industry regulations and the oversight principals that govern it
  • A consultative, customer-facing attitude combined with a continuous improvement mind set
  • An appreciation of tactful diplomacy with a proven ability to influence and achieve strategic goals
  • Excellent communication and articulation skills with experience translating technical concepts into understandable actions

What Can We Offer You?

This role is instrumental in the modernization of UK airspace and is critical to ensuring that a safe environment for aircraft flight operations is maintained. It will challenge you on every level, from your technical capability and understand to your ability to work with people, problem solve and deliver on your strategic objectives. As well as this it will give you broad exposure in a niche industry segment and will cement your name on an international level.
