The Role

 

We are looking for a Graphic Designer to join our communications department. They will be responsible for designing and generating content for all our channels including publications, website and social media to ensure an integrated and coherent approach that meets our brand guidelines and presents the organisation as a modern and expert authority. 

 

Key responsibilities:

 

  • Design high quality content for our key channels based on briefings from colleagues
  • Identify opportunities for the Communications Department to enhance the professional service it provides and be the guardian of our brand and style guidelines.
  • Ensure the presentation of information is appropriate for its audience, consistent with our brand and meets accessibility requirements.
  • Provide the business with a dedicated publishing resource and expert advice when commissioning design work from external agencies.
  • Develop ‘best practice’ ways to present designed content in line with latest industry developments.
  • Work as part of the communications team to ensure all content remains fit for purpose.

 

 

About You

 

We are keen to hear from designers with experience of creating corporate materials including publications, promotional materials, factsheets, infographics, reports and social media content.

You will be skilled in using Adobe Creative Cloud products and services, especially to high levels in In Design and Illustrator, with the ability to produce high quality content for multiple channels.

It is key that you have the ability to communicate complex, technical information to a non-expert audience, to present information clearly and influence others – including senior management.

You’ll have excellent planning skills to manage multiple incoming design request based on our priorities.

You will be working as a specialist in the content, channels and campaigns team – part of a busy in-house communications department which is responsible for media relations, internal communications, external relations, stakeholder engagement and content production.

Our work is high profile and regularly attracts mainstream national media attention. There is significant public, political and industry interest in our work so no day is the same!

There will be great exposure to communications work across the department. You will also work directly with external suppliers and subject matter experts across the whole organisation to produce work that helps explain key policy and regulatory decisions to our external stakeholders.

 

 

Additional Information
 

For many appointments within the CAA, these roles require access to operationally sensitive infrastructure and/or Nationally Protected information. For these roles the post holders must undergo National Security Vetting and achieve the appropriate level of clearance.

 

To be vetted we will usually expect a reasonable period of residency in the UK so that meaningful checks can be undertaken.
