The Role


CAA is seeking candidates to advise line managers and supervisors on the day-to-day implementation and monitoring of policy, procedures and plans including accident and incident investigation, reporting and analysis.


Key responsibilities, duties, and objectives:


  • To advise line managers and supervisors on the day-to-day implementation and monitoring of policy, procedures and plans including accident and incident investigation, reporting and analysis
  • To promote awareness of relevant legislation, codes of practice, internal policies and procedures, and good health and safety practice (including active monitoring)
  • To carry out monitoring and internal audits to assess levels of compliance with relevant legislation and the various internal policies and procedures across all business areas
  • To provide support to the Health & Safety Committees to ensure active employee engagement, risk management at a local level and effective communication and co-operation between all involved
  • To develop and deliver training, briefings & workshops across all business areas
  • To monitor and review health and safety performance on an ongoing basis
  • To advise and assist staff on matters concerning the health, safety and wellbeing of staff or others who could be affected by their activities, including such matters as hazard identification, risk assessment, control measures and procedures
  • To stop activities being carried out where staff or others are being exposed to a significant risk until effective controls are in place
  • Any other relevant adhoc duties as requested by the Head of Health, Fire & Safety


About You


Essential requirements:


  • Member of IOSH or IIRSM
  • NEBOSH general certificate in occupational health and safety
  • Fire Safety qualification e.g. NEBOSH Fire
  • Proven track record in a health, safety and fire advisory role
  • Able to produce a range of reports and written recommendation
  • Proven track record in a health and safety advisory role
  • Experience of working for a multi-site operation
  • Comprehensive and up to date working knowledge of all aspects of health and safety management and risk assessment
  • Computer literacy enabling the effective use of Microsoft programs
  • Ability to liaise with appropriate regulatory authorities for Health and Safety
  • High level of interpersonal skill with an effective and flexible interpersonal style to ensure influence and credibility with senior managers and cast members
  • Excellent written and verbal skills to work with, provide advice to, train, and promote excellence in Health and Safety to cast members
  • Ability to work within and contribute to teams of other professionals
  • Able to work to a programme and meet deadlines, be able to organise and prioritise work
  • Able to understand and follow methods statements, permits to work, COSHH hazard warnings and data sheets, Approved Codes of Practice, etc

Additional Information

For many appointments within the CAA, these roles require access to operationally sensitive infrastructure and/or Nationally Protected information. For these roles the post holders must undergo National Security Vetting and achieve the appropriate level of clearance.


To be vetted we will usually expect a reasonable period of residency in the UK so that meaningful checks can be undertaken.
