The Role


To support the Head of UK Space Regulation and the space leadership team by providing a wide range of administrative and secretarial support.


About You


To be considered for the position you will need to have:


  • Previous PA experience to at least Head Of level, at times under pressure
  • Ability to display tact and diplomacy at all times as well as being trustworthy and able to deal with matters of confidentiality
  • Good collaboration and a high level of interpersonal skills, proven experience working with external stakeholders
  • Excellent IT skills and experience of using Microsoft Office tools, particularly Outlook, Teams, PowerPoint, and SharePoint
  • Proactive, can do attitude with ability to use own initiative to drive results
  • Some flexibility with the location of work and working hours to meet demands
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • A level of budgetary understanding as you would have some responsibility of spend
  • A proven flair for pre-empting situations and identifying solutions


What Can We Offer You?


We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced administrator to join our new Space team, as we lead the regulatory oversight of the UK's space activities. This role provides essential support to our Head of UK Space Regulation and offers the opportunity to be involved in shaping the direction of this growing area through involvement in a wide variety of activities. The successful applicant will play a key role in ensuring the efficient and effective operation of the space team.


Additional Information

For many appointments within the CAA, these roles require access to operationally sensitive infrastructure and/or Nationally Protected information. For these roles the post holders must undergo National Security Vetting and achieve the appropriate level of clearance.


To be vetted we will usually expect a reasonable period of residency in the UK so that meaningful checks can be undertaken. This can either be 3 years or 5 years depending on the level required (CTC or SC). If you do not meet these requirements, we may not be able to accept your application. Given the impact of Covid-19, it’s likely that you will work remotely to begin with as we plan for a return to work within the government guidelines. While this role is expected to be Gatwick based (Aviation House), the post holder may also be required to work from the London office (Westferry) occasionally depending on the business need.
