The Role

 

The Senior HR Business Partner plays a lead role in partnering ExCo Directors and Senior Leadership Teams, overseeing and delivering strategic and people plans and interventions for a dedicated client group.

This includes mentoring Senior Leadership Team members on the creation and implementation of local people related transformation and change. 

 

As a key member of the extended HR leadership team, the role holder will also drive the ‘One CAA’ approach and the successful implementation and embedding of corporate HR initiatives

 

 Other Core Accountabilities include:

 

  • Lead on the consistent implementation and embedding of corporate people initiatives in relevant business areas
  • Work with centres of excellence to provide business insight, co-create people solutions which align to the CAA people strategy
  • Responsibility for partnering the Group Director and their leadership team, and providing coaching and mentoring on people related matters
  • Active and trusted member of group and HR leadership team providing business insights from client groups and identifying relevant solutions
  • Has a deep understanding of the group-specific business objectives and talent needs (e.g. headcount, competencies, people challenges) as well as the cross-CAA people landscape 
  • Understands resourcing challenges and advises leadership teams on a group resourcing strategy aligned to capability needs
  • Leads on the development and execution of a high impact people plan which is aligned to business plan objectives and the CAA people strategy
  • Provides insightful people related data to guide decision making and identifies ways to develop of solutions to address challenges
  • Provides business partnering to cross CAA initiatives or transformation projects aligned to the CAA people strategy 
  • Coach and mentor senior leaders to support behavioural change
  • Coach and mentor HR colleagues across the function in particular the People Consultants
  • Oversee and take the lead on talent management and succession planning for the group identifying strategies or solutions which will address any challenges  
  • Lead on supporting the leadership team in analysing colleague experience survey results and facilitating action plans 
  • Lead on organisational design and development for the group
  • Oversee implementation of change and restructuring programmes providing coaching to the People Consultant team where required  
  • May support on complex ER issues at a senior level 

 

 

About You

 

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate the following skills & experience;

 

  • Business insights: credible in debating business opportunities, passionate and curious about business, customer centric, delivers insight to inspire change through data and an appetite for solving problems 
  • Experience of leading business change and embedding corporate frameworks to drive improved people practices
  • Self-aware – understands strengths and weaknesses and how to manage them. 
  • Agile, flexible and comfortable with change.  A strategic thinker who is able to manage ambiguity 
  • Critical friend – confident in challenging leaders and able to influence to achieve win-win outcomes that balance CAA and group needs
  • Empathetic and active listener 
  • Understands team dynamics and coaches leaders to improve performance 
  • Able to flex style to different stakeholders and influence accordingly  
  • Understands org design at the strategic level and at the level of teams 
  • Curious about other organisations’ work and sharing insight within HR and the business 
  • Experience in leading the following: org design, succession planning, performance management, talent management, data analysis, and ideally experience in Employee Relations

Additional Information
 

For many appointments within the CAA, these roles require access to operationally sensitive infrastructure and/or Nationally Protected information. For these roles the post holders must undergo National Security Vetting and achieve the appropriate level of clearance.

 

To be vetted we will usually expect a reasonable period of residency in the UK so that meaningful checks can be undertaken.
