The Role

The Safety & Airspace Regulation Group’s (SARG) responsibilities cover a wide array of different regulatory aspects. These include everything from analysis of air crash investigations to aviation’s general environmental impact. Currently SARG utilize several different proprietary IT systems, which together we define as our safety oversight management systems. These systems are used by our analysts, inspectors, and regulators daily and it is vital that they, and subsequently the data held within them, are fit for purpose.


To this end, we are looking for a Systems Owner for SARG’s data systems. In this role you will act as the first point of contact regarding systems development, maintenance, operation, compliance, and improvement. To achieve this, you will work closely with all levels of the business as well as take the lead in engagement with our technology vendors.


Additionally, you will be empowered to explore our systems to help build the organisations appreciation and understanding their functional capabilities. This means diving deep into what makes the systems tick, where they work effectively and efficiently with each other and where perhaps there is room for improvement and standardisation. This is all done with the aim of creating a more efficient, consistent, and accurate reporting environment for the end user.


About You

  • You should be able to demonstrate excellent customer service and communication skills, both written and verbal, with the confidence to converse at all levels of business
  • Prior experience in the management of a web/cloud /software-based product or service is critical
  • Experienced in the leading of problem solving and improvement activity on behalf of a wide selection of partners
  • An ability to form strong, long lasting relationships with, as well as influence and persuade, others
  • An organised and delivery focused attitude, driven by the need to ensure an outstanding service and business efficiency are maintained
  • Appreciation of high data quality standards for consistent and accurate reporting
  • Your approach should be open, friendly, and consultative with an ability to define and act on key insights
