The Role


Working closely with the Portfolio Test Manager and the Test Lead, the Test Analyst is responsible for the testing of internally developed and third-party supplied software as well as collaborating and providing support to the wider test team. 


Working with functional and non-functional testing within both Agile and Waterfall environments with the opportunity to apply knowledge and expertise to the test process to ensure successful delivery of projects within the portfolio.


Work closely with business users to understand their needs and to support them through the User Acceptance Test process.


Predominantly using manual test techniques but will also have opportunities to use automated testing tools as we further enhance our test process.


Key responsibilities:


  • Creating project test documentation including Test Approach, Test Plan and Test Completion Reports
  • Identifying test cases following requirement analysis
  • Identifying test environment requirements
  • Writing, developing and performing tests covering System Testing, Integration Testing, User Acceptance Testing, Non-Functional Testing, Operational Acceptance Testing and Regression Testing
  • Managing User Acceptance Testing and supporting business users through the test process
  • Collating test evidence and reporting test results to ensure visibility of test progress and outcomes
  • Defect Management


About You

We’re looking for individuals who have previously worked in the following test phases: System Testing, Integration Testing, User Acceptance Testing, Non-Functional Testing, Operational Acceptance Testing and Regression Testing.

Great communication skills with the ability to work with business users and to understand their needs.


Experienced in test planning, requirement analysis, test scripting, test execution, evidence gathering, defect management, test result analysis and MI Reporting.


Ideally who have worked with a variety of test techniques in a mixed methodology environment, e.g. Agile, Waterfall or hybrid.


Have a good understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle.

What Can We Offer You?


You’ll be joining an established and experienced Test Team - great for someone who is keen to develop and learn new skills.


Working with MS Dynamics 365, SharePoint Online, Azure DevOps and exposure to automation testing using Selenium (C#).


This role will suit someone motivated by variation as you’ll be responsible for the test activities for multiple projects including test planning, test design, test execution, defect management and test suite maintenance.



Additional Information

For many appointments within the CAA, these roles require access to operationally sensitive infrastructure and/or Nationally Protected information. For these roles the post holders must undergo National Security Vetting and achieve the appropriate level of clearance.


To be vetted we will usually expect a reasonable period of residency in the UK so that meaningful checks can be undertaken.
