Air Safety Support International Ltd (ASSI) is a wholly owned subsidiary of the UK Civil Aviation Authority. Established in 2003, ASSI supports the development of civil aviation safety regulation in the UK Overseas Territories (OTs). Its mission is “To ensure, in an inclusive and sustainable manner, that the UK meets its international obligations in respect of aviation safety regulation within the UK Overseas Territories.”


The Role

 

Support the Safety Performance and Risk Manager in delivery and continuous improvement of aviation safety and security oversight across the UK Overseas Territories (UKOTs).

 

The role contributes to the development of the State Safety Programme (SSP) and National Aviation Safety Plan (NASP) through safety data analysis, and risk management activities. Essential part of the role involves the development and administration of ASSI’s Centrik management system and through Power BI dashboards, providing insights that inform regulatory priorities and decision-making. The postholder will work flexibly across the organisation, assisting with regulatory compliance activities, process improvements, and operational priorities as required.

 

Core Accountabilities

 

  • Support the introduction of future versions of Centrik.
  • Review Centrik developments to improve current or create future processes.
  • Provide daily operational Centrik support and training (written/ video) guidance to all staff.
  • Troubleshoot and manage issues arising with Centrik.
  • Raise and manage helpdesk tickets, liaise with TrustFlight, Centrik’s supplier regarding system issues.
  • Manage access rights, roles and further develop external stakeholder use of ASSI’s Centrik system.
  • Conduct regular tests and checks of the data security aspects of multiple stakeholder access.
  • Perform data analysis tasks with the use of relevant tools to support regulatory team activity.
  • Assist in the development of data dashboards with the use of Power BI to support the regulatory team and support the development of PBO processes.
  • Assist in managing the occurrence reporting process in Centrik.
  • Review ASSI’s operations to explore further resource saving uses of Centrik.
  • Undertake at the discretion of ASSI management, such tasks, outside the jobholder’s normal area of technical expertise, as the job may occasionally demand.
  • Provide flexile support with various processes to ensure these are completed to a good standard and on time across the organisation
  • To innovate and review available technology to improve processes to support the operation.

 

About You

 

  • You are a proactive and analytical professional with experience in managing and optimising safety, compliance, or operational management systems, ideally within an aviation environment. You have hands-on experience administering Centrik or a similar management platform and are comfortable developing, testing, and improving business processes using digital tools and applications.
  • You enjoy problem-solving, can quickly identify root causes, and are confident working with data to deliver meaningful insights and support informed decision-making. You have strong analytical and technical skills, including advanced use of Microsoft Excel, Power Query, Power BI, and other Microsoft 365 applications, and can translate complex information into practical solutions.
  • You thrive in collaborative environments, building positive working relationships with stakeholders at all levels while remaining capable of managing your own workload and priorities with minimal supervision. Adaptable and self-motivated, you can effectively balance competing demands and work across different organisational and cultural environments.

 

To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate:

 

  • Experience administering Centrik or a similar safety, quality, or compliance management system.
  • Experience developing, testing, and improving processes using online applications and digital tools.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical capabilities.
  • Experience working with data, reporting, and visualisation tools, including Excel, Power Query, and Power BI.
  • Good general IT knowledge and a high level of digital literacy.
  • Experience of safety reporting systems and occurrence management processes.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • The ability to work collaboratively as part of a team while maintaining a high level of autonomy.
  • Strong numerical and analytical aptitude with excellent attention to detail.
  • A flexible and adaptable approach, with a willingness to learn and embrace new technologies and ways of working.

 

Desirable:

  • Awareness of ICAO State Safety Programme (SSP) requirements and aviation safety management principles.

 

Additional Information

 

For many appointments, these roles require access to operationally sensitive infrastructure and/or Nationally Protected information. For these roles the post holders must undergo National Security Vetting and achieve the appropriate level of clearance.
