The Role
The Forms Developer role within the Software Engineering function is responsible for delivering and supporting development activities across key strategic platforms and technologies that underpin CAA business objectives. The role holder will contribute to the delivery, support and continuous improvement of digital forms solutions and will play a key role in shaping the electronic forms strategy for the Civil Aviation Authority.
Working predominantly within the Avoka platform, the role will design, develop and support secure, scalable and accessible online services. This includes building complex customer journeys, reusable form components and business logic, whilst integrating forms with internal and external systems through REST and SOAP services. The role will leverage Journey Maestro, Journey Manager, Transaction Integration Agent (TIA), Groovy services and JavaScript to deliver solutions that meet business and user needs.
Core Accountabilities
- Participate in all phases of the software development lifecycle, from requirements analysis and solution design through development, testing, deployment and production support of online forms part of the Temenos Journey platform.
- Work collaboratively with CAA business stakeholders, Information Services teams including Software Engineering, Infrastructure, Information Security, and Architecture, as well as Temenos Support, to deliver and maintain robust digital journey solutions.
- Perform root cause analysis and resolution of complex production issues within the Temenos Journey platform.
About You
Essential:
- Strong experience with Temenos Journey, including Journey Maestro, Journey Manager (JM) and TIA.
- Knowledge of the Temenos Data Model, native components, data prefill and payment integrations.
- Experience building reusable forms and customer journey solutions.
- Proficiency in JavaScript, form validations, business rules and Dynamic Data Services (DDS).
- Experience integrating with REST and SOAP APIs.
- Strong experience developing Groovy services within Journey Manager and TIA.
- Experience integrating with platforms such as Dynamics 365, SharePoint Online and Azure Functions.
- Experience supporting deployments across Development, UAT and Production environments.
- Ability to manage and remediate impacts from Temenos platform upgrades.
- Experience troubleshooting complex issues and working with Temenos Support.
- Good understanding of WCAG accessibility standards.
- Experience producing technical documentation and mentoring junior developers.
Desirable:
- Experience within financial services or other regulated environments.
- Knowledge of Azure Cloud Services and Microsoft technologies.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
- Familiarity with Agile delivery methodologies.
- Understanding of API security and secure development practices.
- Relevant Temenos, Azure or software development certifications.

Additional Information
For many appointments within the CAA, these roles require access to operationally sensitive infrastructure and/or Nationally Protected information. For these roles the post holders must undergo National Security Vetting and achieve the appropriate level of clearance.
SC - To be vetted we will usually expect a reasonable period of residency in the UK so that meaningful checks can be undertaken. For this role this will need to be 5 years.

We are now working with colleagues and visitors to understand what we need in our new office, before we start our property search. We will sell Aviation House and land, vacate the site and move to new premises, but we do not expect to move before 2028
