STEM Project Administrator Apprentice - Lifetime Apprenticeships

The Role

 

To provide project and administrative support across the CAA STEM Programme. Objectives may be adjusted so the role holder can support the business other areas whether this specific to one project/business area or more generic Professional Services Group support. All role holders will have comprehensive customer service and administration skills.

 

Core Accountabilities

 

  • To support a range of tasks including monitoring and managing the email inbox
  • Arranging and supporting meetings
  • Produce meeting documentation
  • Diary management, support STEM events
  • Support small projects aligned with the government grant funding for STEM
  • Update processes and procedure documentation and project reporting
  • Liaise with internal staff and external partners to coordinate STEM resources
  • Communicate policies and how they impact on decisions taken by stakeholders both verbally and in writing and provide clarification and explanation on more complex issues
  • Support the STEM Affinity network members to ensure legal requirements are met; Risk Assessments/Public liability/safeguarding
  • Attend meetings with stakeholders to provide guidance, education or discuss decisions. On occasions, they chair routine meetings
  • Work closely with the communications and media team to support the internal and external promotion of the STEM programme
  • Support procurement processes when onboarding suppliers and partners of the STEM programme
  • Responsible for analysing data, impact measurement or research materials conducting research activities, supporting colleagues and management
  • Ensure that enquiries from internal and/or external customers are forwarded to key focal points in a timely manner
  • Liaise with external authorities and entities where required

 

 

About You

 

To be considered for the role you must have:

 

  • Team player and working collaboratively
  • Good IT skills, specifically in Microsoft Applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, SharePoint, and PowerPoint)
  • Good Customer Service skills
  • Excellent planning and organisation skills with the ability to work to deadlines
  • Confident communicator with excellent oral and written communications skills – exceptional English language grammar, spelling, and proofreading skills
  • A strong eye for visual design and composition
  • Capable of using initiative
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks
  • Ability to build and maintain relationships with people
  • 5 GCSE’s A-C / 9-4 or equivalent (must include Maths and English)
  • 2 A levels or equivalent
  • Some office-based work experience would be advantageous

Additional Information

 

For many appointments within the CAA, these roles require access to operationally sensitive infrastructure and/or Nationally Protected information. For these roles the post holders must undergo National Security Vetting and achieve the appropriate level of clearance.

 

BPSS - To be vetted you must have the right to work in the UK so that meaningful checks can be undertaken.

Relocation & Property

The CAA will be relocating from Aviation House (Our Gatwick Office) to new premises in a few years’ time. Our move is driven by strategic, operational and environmental considerations.

 

We will be moving to a new local home, up to a 15-mile radius of Aviation House, to minimise disruption for our valued colleagues and customers.

 

We are now working with colleagues and visitors to understand what we need in our new office, before we start our property search. We will sell Aviation House and land, vacate the site and move to new premises, but we do not expect to move before 2028
