The Role

 

The purpose of the role of invigilator for the Shared Service Centre is to provide a range of administrative and support services to exam centres by invigilating exams on a set timetable.

 

Key Responsibilities

 

  • Provide a comprehensive administrative and/or support service for customers
  • Produce documentation such as attendance sheets, workbooks or other paperwork relevant to the exam
  • Undertake any necessary checks and verifications in administrative activities that are required under regulation
  • Maintain accurate records where appropriate for regulatory compliance
  • Handle enquires from internal and/or external customers – in some cases this may be frontline applicants and maybe required to provide advice and guidance within agreed parameters
  • Liaise with colleagues elsewhere in the CAA as and when required
  • Provide coaching and training to colleagues as required
  • Liaise with external authorities and entities where required
  • Travel to other venues in the UK when required to cover holidays and sickness
  • Travel to Gatwick 1 day a year to attend refresher training

 

About You

 

Typically, role holders will have comprehensive customer service and administration skills and ideally previous invigilation experience.

 

Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office and using bespoke databases and systems are essential

 

You should have a methodical approach with a very good attention to detail and be used to managing your own caseload of work.

 

You must be flexible with a positive “can-do” attitude and able to work to set processes

 

Able to work on your own initiative and effectively manage own workload and prioritise efficiently.

An excellent communicator who is used to working as part of a team as a remote worker and must be able to work to set deadlines and under pressure.

Additional Information

 

For many appointments within the CAA, these roles require access to operationally sensitive infrastructure and/or Nationally Protected information. For these roles the post holders must undergo National Security Vetting and achieve the appropriate level of clearance.

 

BPSS - To be vetted you must have the right to work in the UK so that meaningful checks can be undertaken.

Relocation & Property

The CAA will be relocating from Aviation House (Our Gatwick Office) to new premises in a few years’ time. Our move is driven by strategic, operational and environmental considerations.

 

We will be moving to a new local home, up to a 15-mile radius of Aviation House, to minimise disruption for our valued colleagues and customers.

 

We are now working with colleagues and visitors to understand what we need in our new office, before we start our property search. We will sell Aviation House and land, vacate the site and move to new premises, but we do not expect to move before 2028
