The Role

 

The CAA are looking for an experienced Portfolio Analyst to join our PMO Team in Portfolio Delivery.  Portfolio Delivery is responsible for the scoping, planning, governance, and delivery of cross departmental change activities.  These can cover everything from continuous improvement initiatives to companywide system integrations and will often touch on some of the hottest topics in aviation today.

 

Portfolio Delivery is best described as a fast paced, forward-thinking department with a wide variety of exciting projects and programmes.

 

As a Portfolio Analyst you will work closely with Project Managers capturing key project information, analysing data, and highlighting trends as appropriate.  You will ensure appropriate governance practices are followed for projects in line with the CAA Delivery Framework.  You will track and communicate key actions and decisions with stakeholders and assist in maintaining all centrally held PMO documentation, ensuring these remain accurate and up to date and be a self-starter who exhibits resilience, patience and understanding.

 

When working with colleagues you should seek to continuously improve relationships, develop your understanding of their challenges, and consult with each to seek out solutions. To this end, you will need to be comfortable driving, influencing, challenging, and negotiating with partners at all levels of business whist taking full accountability for actions, judgements, and decisions.

 

About You

 

To be considered for the role, the successful candidate will be required to have:

 

  • A Track record in a similar role within a PMO with a solid understanding and some training in project management fundamentals and Project Management best practice
  • Be accomplished in the use of Office applications including Word, MS Project,  PowerPoint, Visio, and an Excel ‘ Super User’
  • Knowledge and experience of project management methodologies and delivery methods, ideally with a P3O or project management qualification
  • Be an excellent communicator, influencer and negotiator who can demonstrate engagement and influencing at all levels of business whilst prioritising your workload
  • Experience providing reporting that meets the needs of various stakeholder groups
  • Experience in project plan creation and pipeline coordination
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify trends and patterns
  • Strong organisation skills as the priority and workload may change very quickly

Additional Information
 

For many appointments within the CAA, these roles require access to operationally sensitive infrastructure and/or Nationally Protected information. For these roles the post holders must undergo National Security Vetting and achieve the appropriate level of clearance.

 

To be vetted we will usually expect a reasonable period of residency in the UK so that meaningful checks can be undertaken.
