The Role

We are setting out to transform a number of our key technology services, build major new services for our customers and mature new ways of working including Agile and DevOps, and exploiting new cloud-based capabilities in Microsoft Azure and Gov PaaS.

We have an exciting opportunity working as a Solution Architect. You will work alongside the Product Owner and agile team, business SMEs and wider CAA technology teams to set the technical direction and ensure the definition of effective, innovative, technical solutions that meet both the customer and business needs, while being aligned to both the Authority’s strategic objectives and enterprise architecture.


About You


We are looking for someone that thrives working as part of a team and that has an understanding and capability in all of the Architecture disciplines – data, application, technology/infrastructure, security and business, with strong expertise in at least two. Awareness of good practices in architecture and the ability to operate both waterfall and agile approaches ensuring resilient designs in the face of rapidly changing requirements. Experience of DevOps approaches to product delivery and an understanding of GDS approaches to software delivery would be advantageous but not essential.

A demonstrable understanding of technologies employed by the CAA is required for this role. In particular skills in some of the following Microsoft Technologies: Cloud Hosting within Azure,  Web Technologies (, MVC patterns), CRM 365, Office 365 and SharePoint Online, SQL Server technologies (RDBMS, SSIS, SSAS, SSRS), Power BI, Azure DevOps, Terraform/Infrastructure as code deployments.
